Our Story
A New Mutt In The House
It all started with an adorable rescued mutt, named Sadie Lu. Although we had other pets in the family, it had been quite a while since there was a dog in the house.
Sadie Lu, being a young, fearless, rambunctious soul, soon had us looking for quality veterinarians, dog grooming, dog obedience training, pet sitting, dog boarding and day care services and more.
Of course, it didn’t stop there—we needed all kinds of new information! We needed to know what kind of toy she wouldn’t tear apart within minutes; the best place to get healthy dog food and treats; dog parks, pet-friendly activities; and so on and so on.
The Quest for Information
I turned to the phone book, friends, neighbors, and the Internet to find the local services and information we needed to care for Sadie. This was quite time consuming and didn’t always render the best results.
In my quest, I realized that I wasn’t alone. I found that many pet owners were in the same boat—all were continually looking for quality pet services and information. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one place, one resource, to go to for all of our local pet needs?
A Community of Pet Lovers
I became passionate about fostering an online community where pet lovers in the greater Richmond, Virginia area could provide one another with information and resources that would enrich their lives, the lives of their pets, and the lives of the homeless pets in the care of our local animal rescue organizations.
A 'special place' where we can have some fun, communicate and collaborate with one another, and support our local pet community at the same time.
